Food Pantry

The Montgomery Food Pantry is a resource for anyone in need to receive food once a month and is available to residents living in the Valley Central School District.  The pantry is mainly funded by private donations and local food drives, but does receive state funding through various grants.  Food is also purchased at a lesser cost from the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley in Cornwall, NY.

We are a privately run Pantry that has volunteers, staffed by (5) local churches.

• First Presbyterian Church, Village of Montgomery
• First Reformed Church, Village of Walden
• Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Village of Walden
• St. Andrew's Episcopal Church/Chapel of Walden, Village of Walden
• Brick Reformed Church, Town of Montgomery

Food Pickup Information
Proof of Residency is needed each month upon picking up food.  New families to the pantry must show proof of residency and provide birth certificates for those listed on their form.  Any utility bill, tax bill, or insurance bill with the address listed is acceptable for residency.  Proof of birth can be driver's license for adults, birth certificates, or Medicaid cards with birth dates listed for children.

How to Donate
Food donations can be dropped off at the pantry during operational hours or at the Montgomery Post Office.  If that is not convenient, please leave a message at the pantry at (845) 457-9673 to set up an appointment.  Clothing donations can not be accepted due to lack of space.  Monetary donations can be mailed to our post office box.
